Food & Allergy Testing

Food Sensitivity (IgG) Test
Hidden Food Intolerance Detection

Food sensitivity occurs when the body mistakenly identifies certain foods as harmful.
The immune system then reacts, triggering symptoms that can vary widely:

  • IgE Food Allergy
A common type of food allergy causing immediate reactions, such as skin rashes, swelling of the face or lips, difficulty breathing, or even life-threatening anaphylaxis. This condition usually lasts a lifetime but does not affect other body systems.

  • IgG Food Sensitivity
Often referred to as “hidden food intolerance,” this type impacts long-term health. It does not cause immediate symptoms but is closely linked to chronic issues such as digestive problems, skin conditions, immune imbalances, and low energy.น

What is IgG?

IgG (Immunoglobulin G) is an antibody produced by white blood cells.
Some IgG types remain in the body for life, while others disappear over time.
This means IgG food sensitivities can improve if the trigger foods are avoided.

What makes IgG unique is its “lock-and-target” system — it recognizes shapes of foreign substances and attacks immediately.
But if some body cells look similar to the target, IgG may attack our own cells, leading to complex chronic symptoms.

Possible Symptoms of IgG Food Sensitivity

Depending on which tissues are affected, symptoms may include:

  • Chronic headaches, migraines, mood swings, depression, insomnia
  • Skin issues: rashes, acne, dull complexion, premature wrinkles
  • Digestive problems: bloating, constipation, diarrhea, gut inflammation, unexplained weight gain
  • Respiratory issues: allergic rhinitis, nasal congestion, chronic sinusitis
  • Weakened immunity and chronic fatigue

Impact on Gut Health

If left untreated, hidden food sensitivities can cause gut inflammation, disrupting the balance of gut microbiota.
“Good bacteria decrease, harmful bacteria increase,” leading to Leaky Gut Syndrome,
which further worsens food sensitivities — creating a vicious cycle that is difficult to break.

How to Manage and Recover

By identifying trigger foods and avoiding them consistently for 3–6 months,
IgG levels can decrease, symptoms improve, and sensitivities may resolve.
(But reintroducing those foods too soon may trigger the reaction again.)

Food Sensitivity Testing with ALT

Alternate Lab uses advanced Microarray technology from the UK
to test for sensitivities to up to 222 food items with just a small blood sample.
Results are available within 1 day — accurate, fast, and ready to be applied in real health care.
